‘self portrait in the morning, because the light was nice’
I’ve had this camera over two years now, and when its coming to a point where I might be selling it to upgrade, it feels a little bit like a part of me I’ll be ridding.

This is the second image in my series of self portraits for my fine art class.
I kept this simple. Quite honestly, I wasn’t sure how to convey this past dream.
As a younger child I was adamant that magic was real, and that one day I would study at Hogwarts.
Therefore, I try and symbolise this dream being lost by simply watching the owl as it flys overhead - no hogwarts letter. No magic.

Im taking a fine art photography subject, and in this subject i have to complete a self portrait series.
I generally don’t like being in front of a camera; however, i like how this subject allows me to focus more on concepts rather than commercialising my images.
This self portrait series will use compositing techniques to portray different ideas on past dreams which have been lost or forgotton, mostly from my childhood.
This image is the first I have shot from this series. It follows the idea of a past dream to travel and explore aimlessly.
The suitcase detached is a symbol of this ambition which has somewhat being lost.
